Poor little Maggie. It sure is tough being #2. Katie gets all the attention, and Maggie happily hangs out and watches. It's amazing, really, as she seems very content to laugh and giggle (click on the link to hear an audio file of her laughing) at the antics of her big sister. It's certainly fun to watch, but we also want to make sure Maggie gets her time in the limelight, so this post is just about her...
She had her 4 month checkup a couple of weeks ago. About what we were expecting with a height of 25.5 in (75th percentile) and weight of 16 lbs, 4 oz. (90th percentile). 75th percentile in height?? Maybe she's going to be the tall one in the family!! Yeah, hmmm, I guess it's not too likely :-)
She's a charmer, though. Always quick with a smile and a giggle and a laugh. I don't recall Katie being quite so ticklish, but a quick rub to Maggie's belly will bring out a laugh almost every time. She's sleeping well at night, usually 8-9 hours, but she doesn't nap much during the days. She's also holding her head up very well, and while she rolled over several times at 3 months, she doesn't like to show off, so she hasn't done it in a while. She's pretty close to rolling over back to front, though, and can get about 3/4 of the way there.
Maggie's a great eater so far, and has started staring longingly at our food when we're eating. Not long before she'll be throwing down the solids. I can't believe she's almost 5 months old already -- The summer has certainly flown by.
