What a weird month. From rainy and 50 to hot and 90's back to rainy and 50. I guess it just gives us something to complain about. It has been over a month since the last post, so the slide show has quite a few pictures in it this time. We took a short vacation down to California a couple of weeks ago, and took Grandma with us. We didn't actually make it in to Disney -- It was soooo expensive, and the odds of Katie being able to last more than a couple of hours in there were pretty slim. We did walk to Downtown Disney a couple of times, though, and got a few pictures..
We stayed at a hotel just a few blocks from Disney. The hotel had an outdoor pool, so it was a chance to get Katie into the water for the first time. She had a BLAST! I see swim lessons in the near future. We also got to see Uncle Monty -- We'll just call him "Miracle Monty" as his doctor says that Monty is his miracle patient. After multiple surgery's and various other treatments he's hanging in there quite well. It was great to spend some time with him and have Katie meet him for the first time.
Katie is just about fully mobile now. She's not quite walking without a little bit of help, but she's crawling all over the place and she's quick like a rabbit. She does patty cake and has figured out how to sign "more", which comes in very handy when she wants more of her favorite fruit, watermelon. She's also getting a little more vocal, and likes to be heard in restaurants, or other places that are a little bit louder than normal. She can say "ma-ma" and "da-da", but I don't know if she really knows what they mean yet. She loves to say "oooh" and point at things that she finds fascinating. Animals seem to be especially fascinating to her right now, so Max and Missy better watch out!!
Katie's one year birthday is coming up fast -- June 5th. We'll have a small party with mostly family.. Should be fun.
